Starting Monday with a little reminder ✨When I started my career, I promised myself I’d never stay at a job that doesn’t value me, is toxic, or where I am unhappy. I’ve always pursued the feeling of growth, happiness and simply the ability to enjoy myself in whatever space I am in day in and day out.

Moreover, I am a big believer in being happy at work. We spend so much time at work and the impact it has on your mental health, overall attitude and life outlook is undeniable.

No matter how much you think you are able to compartmentalise, how you feel at work sets the tone for how you feel outside of work. If you are unhappy at work, under-appreciated and stuck in a toxic environment, it’s time to make an exit plan.

Build a safety net around (a good old emergency fund, document your projects and successes, and start building a good network), and start applying for better roles and companies, and don’t look back. The grass is actually greener on the other side (as long as you scan your new employer and make sure there are no major red flags) and you WILL find a workplace where you love showing up.

Sunday fit check to go work from a coffee shop. ☕️👩‍💻 We’re taking a three week holiday in April and I have so much work piling up, I need to get ahead of it before my leave. I also have a lot of upcoming cool stuff at work so I’m not seeing it as a burden but am rather quite excited!

P.S. Obsessed with my preloved beige cashmere top I got on Vinted a few weeks ago. Love buying cashmere pieces preloved, as they’re much more affordable.

I have not accepted the concept of burnout completely yet being applied to my personal experience. But I have recognized many elements in my life and work journey in the past 4 years.

With the forced slow-down that the pandemic brought, I’ve commenced a little bit of a personal revolution as to my own way of seeing life and work and my relationship with what I am willing to give and what I am not.

Regardless, I thought this quote is extremely powerful if you’re grappling with a burnout or near burnout state or even just constant fatigue that doesn’t allow you to do everything you want to. It’s never too late to hit pause, slow down and start prioritizing taking care of yourself.

- @zojirushi_official spillproof insulated mug with herbal tea because I’ve been nursing a sore throat for the last couple of weeks and I need it on hand all the time.

- @cultbeauty neoprene beauty bag that I got for free with an order last summer and I am obsessed with. It’s lightweight and has a perfect size to carry all my essentials like hand cream, lipsticks, etc.. I also don’t worry about things spilling inside as it can be thrown in the wash. I recently orderd another one off the site for 13€ and what can I say, I am happy to have 2 to throw in my tote bags.

- @rayban sunglasses because the sun is out again in Berlin

- @amazonkindle that I carry around everywhere just in case I can squeeze in some reading (spoiler alert, I usually don’t)
