Weekly Reads – June 17

Welcome to the Weekly Reads, where I highlight articles that I found on the web and that are focused on career advice, lifestyle, beauty or anything I think would round up as useful for the young, modern working woman. So get yourself comfortable, pour a cup of coffee and enjoy this week’s reads!

Before I start with this weeks’ picks, I have to say it: guys, this is it. The holidays week is here. In less than four days I will be flying to Spain and finally getting to unwind from work. The reason why I am beyond excited to be off for a bit over a week, it’s because I am working on demanding client projects pretty much 80% of the time, and so it never feels the right moment to take time off. Truth is that I know the theory and that having time off and disconnecting is necessary and healthy, but for some reason I always have trouble in truly doing that. So with that said, next week I will report back from the beach and let you guys know how the holiday is unfolding.

Career women. If you need some career inspiration or are curious to know about other women’s career paths and how did they get where they are, Career Contessa‘s interviews with successful women are a perfect place to start with. My last read was their interview with Nikki Pechet, VP of Marketing at Thumbtack, and I really loved it.
