Welcome to the Weekly Reads, where I highlight articles that I found on the web and that are focused on career advice, lifestyle, beauty or anything I think would round up as useful for the young, modern, working woman. So get yourself comfortable, pour a cup of coffee and enjoy this week’s reads!

Meal Prep Ideas. Last week I was so well organized, I prepped all my meals on Sunday night. And truth is, as time goes by I feel more and more the importance of having a balanced lifestyle and a healthy routine so I am really trying to put things in order from this perspective. One of the big parts is knowing and controlling what you eat so that you don’t feel bloated, heavy or low in energy, as this can definitely ruin your day and your mood; and trust me, meal prepping is your friend for that. It might sound complicated and time consuming, but I personally like to keep it efficient – by which I mean I will eat pretty much the same thing all over again until I can’t anymore. Nonetheless, sometimes I do try to spice up my food routine a little bit and get inspired by low effort & beautifully looking recipes like these.

Ask a Boss. Do you need some workplace advice? Check out The Cut’s series on Ask a Boss where a real life manager answers reader’s questions. If you have questions you never dared to ask you might as well check the Ask a Boss posts, like this one on whether is it wise to use a job offer to get a raise at your current job among others.

Workplace politics. If there is one thing I don’t like in the workplace, it’s definitely politics. Especially because as I am advancing throughly career and through different jobs, I see more and more the role that politics play and how many times they define promotions,   organisational structures and all relationship dynamics. Though, because they exist, it is definitely a must to be aware of what the power game looks like in your company so that you know where to push and pull to meet you own agenda.

What’s on my desk. Anyone else needing some desk inspiration and a sneak peek into somebody else’s crazy work day?  Louise Troen, VP of Marketing at Bumble shares her daily routine and favourite desk items with CGD.

What I am listening to. I am kind of obsessed with NPR’s How I Built This podcast, especially because lately I am thinking more and more about starting my own business at some point.  I love to hear how Guy explores the journey of successful business founders and listening to their stories and the struggles, challenges and successes that they went through inspires me so much and makes me think about my own possibilities as well.
