Weekly Reads – August 13th

Inspirational leadership. Coming across an example of inspiring leadership is definitely not a given. Being around somebody that is not only pushing you to do better professionally but also inspires you to do so is sometimes a privilege. It takes a fair share of emotional intelligence to be an inspiring leader, and competencies like self-awareness, self-management, other awareness and relationship management, that can have a powerful impact on those around. Can you think of a leader/manager or a person who’s made an impact on your life and inspired you to be and do better? And if you cannot, this is your reminder that every single day you have the chance of being that inspiration for others.

One less. This week, Indra Nooyi announced she is stepping down as CEO of PepsiCo in October. to know more about her and how she approached her role as a CEO, here you can listen to the Freakonomics interview she did in January.

It’s all about money. Are you having trouble when it comes to budgeting or saving up? I sure do, and the one trick that is helping is a good old excel sheet and an old fashioned envelope. Here some other classic money saving tips for you to use when everything digital is letting you down.

Stay comfy and cool. Sore feet and shoe issues are one of my worst enemies. I literally get blisters with any kind of shoes, and breaking into new shoes is such a pain. When I came across these six solutions to help deal with those shoe issues I couldn’t be happier.
