Welcome to the Weekly Reads, where I highlight articles that I found on the web and that are focused on career advice, lifestyle, beauty or anything I think would round up as useful for the young, modern, working woman. So get yourself comfortable, pour a cup of coffee and enjoy this week’s reads!
This is an exciting week for me, I have started my master’s course this week (Yaay, finally!) and am so excited to see how I will balance the weekly assignments while working full-time and still keeping the blog – also, stay tuned for a post where I will share more about that. I have also booked my Christmas holidays, and I will be going back to Spain for catching up with family and friends.
Crossed off my wishlist. If you’ve read my 2018 shopping wishlist – link here – you know that I have been wanting an Apple Watch for a while now. Well, with the Series 4 coming out in September, I thought it was the perfect moment to get my hands on it. I have already ordered the stainless steel gold one, and can’t wait for it to arrive and give it all my love! I am beyond excited to use it for tracking my activity and pair it with my AirPods. Anyone else in the club or using fitness trackers? Would love to get some recommendations on apps and use cases, so please let me know in the comments!
Getting inspired. CGD assembled a list of 18 women who inspired them in 2018 and I went to have a look. I love getting inspired by women that achieve different things and this is certainly an interesting list of some of the women that have influenced 2018, initiated and built up movements, and stole the headlines.
How to get there. My Salary Story from Refinery29 a marketing manager making $125k a year shares her salary story, where did she start and how she got to $125k a year + initiated a side hustle in th emeantime, how she negotiated and got her raises and everything else you’ve wanted to know. I really love reading these kind of articles where people share their stories and even their salary details.
Home gift ideas. If you love surprising your friends with nice gifts, well the less it hurts the pocket, the better. Here are 29 home gifts ideas that are affordable and will put a smile on your friends. My pick is defintiely the dusty pink, mini tiered vase.
