Weekly Reads – February 10th

Last week has been not too fast and not too slow. I am the type of person that likes to be running around and solving problems at work. While I do enjoy the more chilled days as well every now and then, I usually thrive on solving critical situations. However, more relaxed days mean that I could squeeze in 4 HIIT workouts last week so it’s not a bad deal.

I’ve also finally taken the plunge and got myself blue light blocking glasses. I have never worn glasses in my life and I am quite excited to up my work persona with some cool eyewear. Can’t wait for them to be ready!

The Weekly Reads

How she gets it done. I have been following Hillary Kerr (Who What Wear & Clique Media co-founder) for a while, and have also been listening to her podcast Second Life. The Cut profiled her for their How I Get it Done series and I loved reading it.

Sleep habits. I am always on the quest for trying to improve my sleeping habits. Well, mostly in my head because I rarely get the chance (to be read: make the time) to practice it. I am the kind of person that needs a solid amount of sleep and the hardest part for me is to actually wake up in the morning. Very rarely have I woken up early without an alarm – more precisely only once that I can recall. And so I am always looking for ways to make sure I get a good night’s sleep and wake up feeling refreshed and this NY Times piece with a former night owl’s guide to becoming a morning person caught my eye.

Long days leave us tired and exhausted, but the reality is, our days would be less hard, and less exhausting, if we weren’t so tired through them.

Work hacks. From creating templates for repetitive tasks to batch checking emails or silencing notifications (!) there are a few techniques that can help you get ahead in your work day and get it done faster.

What I am watching. I am adding The Toxic Beauty documentary to my watching list. I have not been conscious enough with my skincare routine but this year I do want to be more mindful of the products that I use and balance function and form.

What I am buying. I got the Aesop Resurrection Duet set with hand wash & balm with rosemary, mandarin and cedar scent and I am pretty excited about it as we’ve been wanting to try it out for a long time. The fresh scent is simply divine.

Thank you for reading and I hope you are having a wonderful start to the week!
