I take my Christmas gifting duty seriously. I absolutely love gifting to my loved ones and of course, every year I spend hours doing research for getting the perfect gift(s) for my partner. I usually end up reading through dozens of gift guides for men every year, and I always end up thinking how predictable they are and how little suitable for the modern man (who has it all). So here it is, after lots of trial (and success if I may say), here is my 2020 holiday gift guide for him.
- Cozy Socks – Good socks are always welcome in my household. COS is currently having some of the best socks that are around 90% wool and cashmere. Soft to the touch, have been one of the greatest hits in my partner’s Advent Calendar this year (I strategically placed them in the December 1st bag to make sure he has a cozy December and it worked out pretty well!). These are a really good wool and silk mix and I also love these cozy fleece ones.
- Face cream – If you’ve been wanting to get him using a moisturizer for ages, now it’s your chance, and he’ll thank you for it. Kiehl’s Facial Fuel is a great choice for starting out and I would also recommend Biotherm Homme Aquapower as an alternative.
- Winter neck scarf – I have a million neck scarves for every season of the year. He? Has about three which I managed to steal from him over the years. Essentially, he has none. Don’t ask how! I am therefore tempted to assume it might happen to your partners as well. This beige scarf from Massimo Dutti is a dream. Soft, and versatile enough to pair with different jackets and colours, it has been a success in our household and I promised to try and keep my hands away from it.
- Multi-Tool from Leatherman – He says this is a must on any gift guide so I am here to deliver. I know it came in handy a few times when we were out and about. If he is somewhat into fiddling around the house/bike/car, a multi-tool is something he has to own. Leatherman is one of the key companies in this space and something like Leatherman Heritage Wave + is an absolute classic and I am sure you will get directly to his heart. The one linked above is on a pricier side, Leatherman Free T2 is 1/3 of the price, yet with plenty of value to add.
- Apple Watch – The watch can be a great fitness and health companion for anyone and a great option if you are looking to splurge on a gift. You can go for the Apple Watch Series 6 or for the Apple Watch SE which is more affordable, yet equally powerful. If he already has one, well a new bracelet never hurt nobody.
- With work from home, I can’t think of a better and more beautiful gift than this Walnut Wooden Laptop Stand. This one brings both function and good design and is in my opinion a good candidate for upgrading his workspace.
- Turtle neck – Whether it’s a fine turtle neck that he can wear at the office and under a blazer or a chunky turtle neck to keep him warm on your walks during the coldest days, a turtle neck makes for a great present while also adding a staple to his wardrobe. It’s a win win if you ask me.
- Another splurge on this list, this Leather Tech Case from Stow is a perfect gift if he is into design, handcraft and beautiful things. Everybody loves an organizer to keep your essentials tidy – from passport to power bank and cables.
- AirPods Pro – Whether he’s on the older generation of AirPods or not, the AirPods Pro are a great step up if you ask me. He can use them for taking work calls and pacing around the house, exercising or just listening to music. You can also opt in for the engraving option for a tiny personal touch.
I hope you found this 2020 holiday gift guide for him useful – or at least enjoyed it – and in case you are still running around for gifts, maybe a few of the things above served as inspiration.
