FALL STAPLES

ABOUT ME

I’m a 30-year-old expat currently living in Berlin. During the day, I spend my time building products as part of my job as a Product Manager in a Tech company, while at night and on the weekends, I love sharing little bits of career advice, lessons learned, workwear, and more, here on the blog.

This outfit is so cozy and perfect for fall. I am in love with this grey mohair sweater, it adds such a chic and casual vibe. I wore this on a chilly evening while in NYC in summer but this is also what I wore to the office this week for a full day product strategy workshop (except I wore the white version of the t-shirt instead).

P.S. I’d love to teleport to NYC this fall season 🍂 Anyone else? And since we’re on the topic of travelling, I need to share my sorrows. We decided not to travel anymore for the rest of the year to keep our budget under control after all our travelling this year (except maybe for a small trip to visit family ot a getaway with the Mr) but it‘s so hard. I already had to say no to accompanying the Mr on three of his business trips this fall (something I usually love to do because it’s way cheaper like that) because we are both trying to stay strong budget wise, but man it‘s soooo haaard. For those who stay strong, how do you do it? Or is everyone feeling the same way? 😅

Resharing the *what fits inside my medium Chanel classic flap* reel in honour of the lengthy blog post I just published.

It feels outrageus and a little out of place to me too that I’ve owned this beauty already for three years, but even so I wanted to take some time and write a detailed blog post where Italk through my decision process, wearability, price, wear and tear, and more.

Autumn vibes 🍁☀️☕️ and back to the slip skirt love. This @arketofficial slip skirt has been worn so many times since I got it over 3 years ago, the cost per wear is probably negative by now. 🙈😅

Office day with me 👩🏼‍💻

My current office routine starts with a coffee run with the Mr on our way to work, and ends with a workout at the office gym. I live that the gym is often empty so it’s a perfect relaxation moment.

Of course it helps that the Mr drops me off in the morning and picks me up at the end of the day because I don’t need to carry heavy bags back and forth. I think I can truly use a #blessed in this case 😂🙈❤️

Let’s get coffee and make it to the office ☕️🥐👩🏼‍💻. This is my current routine for office days - squeezing in a quick coffee date with the Mr before making it to work - and I absolutely love it.

I had almost forgotten how much I love to mix wool/cashmere tops with skirts. It’s one of my go to outfit formulas for the fresher season and I love how chic it always ends up looking. Can’t wait to repeat this outfit!

Office day fit check ✔️ Can’t believe it’s finally “light jacket” weather and I’m so excited about it. I’m here for all the fall vibes 🍂🍁🥮

P.S. I haven’t had a jeans jacket in over a decade probably and just got this one at Zara last week and I love the slightly oversized fit and just the overall cool vibe.

Life lately. Enjoying the last of summer days brunching through Berlin’s best places, enjoying coffee breaks outside and just soaking it all in, while in between working, window shopping and reading.

In no particular order, here are some of my favourites:

@anneliesberlin for the best pancakes & brunch in general
@minoa.berlin for the pretty book shop vibe and delicious brunch
@lotta.tagesbar for the spacious interior, the beautiful patio and great croissant with jam & butter
@milchhalle for the best iced lattes & cool vibes
@roeststaetteberlin for the perfect pre-work morning coffee & breakfast sandwich
@loui_torcafe for the people watching before work
@lapcoffee_ for the cheapest & delicious coffee and the hip vibes

An ode to my favourite summer dresses 🫶 Can’t let summer pass without an appreciation reel for my favourite summer dress. It makes me feel like a princess, it has a gorgeous neckline, pockets and an interesting back detail. One of those pieces I know will last me a lifetime.

It’s from @andotherstories (last summer) and I’ve worn it for anniversary dinners, strolling through Milan, NYC or Prague and even for weddings as a late night outfit change. It’s versatile, pretty and so easy to wear I reach for it again and again.

Do you have a favourite summer dress?

Having a „me time“ weekend means going to coffee s

Having a „me time“ weekend means going to coffee shops to read and of course I‘m taking along my newest bag: the Nantucket model from @dragon.diffusion, which I‘m obsessed with and it‘s the perfect casual summer tote (but made out of beautifully woven leather not straw).☀️

I am still reading „Hello Beautiful“ by Ann Napolitano and I am halfway through it and loving it so far because it‘s such a well written book with a thoughtful storyline and characters although not necessarily easy or too light hearted. I am hoping I will still like it by the time I‘m finished with it so we‘ll see. 🤞

Also, I am that person that carries a little sweet in her bag for her coffee break. My sister brought me chocolate coated dates with walnuts from her recent trip to Dubai and I think I can declare it as the perfect sweet to go with a cup of coffee. So delicious! 🤤 Now I need to find out where to buy them in Berlin because my stash is already gone.

What are you reading this summer and what is an unexpected item you are carrying in your bag?

I am so grateful for making it home this summer, seeing family and also squeezing in a few days at the beach. ☀️🫶🌊

The few afternoons I spent basking in the sun, with my feet in the sand and the salty breeze on my skin have felt like a blessing. Honestly, the sun & the sea just hit different this year. I can’t complain about travelling this year given I managed to tick off two bucket list destinations (NYC and Japan) but nothing feels quite like the sea breeze on your skin.

While I only took a couple of days off, I am feeling a little more grounded, especially given the emotional ups and downs I’ve had this year. It’s given me more energy and more mental clarity. And I am feeling more at peace with life, my choices, my direction and everything else in between.

Coincidentally, I’ve also recently seen there is some recent research around the benefits if practicing grounding - such as having your feet in the sand or lying on your back, but I don’t think I need research to tell me that. I can feel it in my bones.

Your turn now, what’s grounded you this summer?

Part ✌️ to my “If I were to start all over again,

Part ✌️ to my “If I were to start all over again, I would prioritise building these 3 skills early on in my career, to help me move forward in a fast yet sustainable way that aligns with my health & wellbeing goals.” Here are the other 3: 👇

1. Learn to write effectively as a way to distill your thoughts. Be concise and succint but nuanced enough. Don’t rely on ChatGPT please. Don’t outsource your brain power, develop it so you can stand on your own two feet. Because honestly, if you can’t put your thoughts down on paper in a coherent way, you will never be a an effective communicator.

2. Set boundaries from early on and prioritise your wellbeing. Start working on your 80 year old body early on so you can maintain a good muscle mass over years as well as high energy levels. Physical health fuels mental health.

3. Build relationships with those around you because it’s the people that make any job better. Don’t just network and play the game, but make genuine connections so you can bring your best self at work. So you can be happy when you show up every day at work.

Also, tell me which ones do you agree with and which ones you don’t. And what would you add to the list?
