Outfit ideas for business casual office wear in winter

I love browsing Pinterest and getting inspired for office outfits. While my style is really easy to spot and you will find no surprise in the outfits I picked, I think it still might give you some inspiration for putting a twist on your day to day work outfits.

Below are three outfit ideas for business casual office wear in winter, because as Leandra Medine says, “When we look better, we feel better and therefore we are better”.

Tie neck shirts

Tie neck shirts are a great way of upgrading your office outfits. They are elegant and always elevate your look thanks to the bow detail on the neck. I will have to admit that most of my shirts have a tie neck and I am totally not sorry about it. It also helps that Zara, Mango and all the affordable brands make great options.

In winter, I usually also wear a sweater on top especially in the coldest days and I love the effect created. I always put the neck tie outside of the sweater though.

Midi skirt

The midi skirt is a winner for winter. You can comine it with knee high boots or with black tights and stilettos (depending on your commute) and you will have a great outfit. I’ve tried this combo myself and truth is, even in the cold of Berlin, it was a comfortable outfit and it also helped me feel both professional and put together during the client meeting that I was wearing it at.

Wool skirt & colourblock/monochrome outfits

Pairing a wool pencil skirt  with a sweater is a winning combination in winter. You can play with colours and build a colourblock outfit.

Otherwise, you can also go for the monochrome version, like this grey outfit made out of a skirt and a high neck sweater; just add a pair of opaque black tights and black heels for the winter version and you are ready to go.

  1. These are all such great looks! I, too, love tie neck blouses (or any blouse without a collar, really). The midi skirt and grey monochrome looks are my absolute favorites. Will definitely be referring back for inspiration! Thank for sharing this.

    1. Thank you, Gillian! I love the grey monochrome outfit as well to the point that I really want to recreate it and I can’t wait to find a similar skirt! Happy that you stopped by and found it useful!
